Ebonite Made in Germany Released in red and black in 1984
Invented by Goodyear in 1839, this is a hard rubber and semi-natural resin made by adding sulfur to raw rubber. It has played a major role in most of the history of fountain pens, but is now rare. It is resistant to wear and tear and can be said to be the ultimate material for internal mechanisms such as screws, but care must be taken as the exterior surface will deteriorate due to the effects of ultraviolet rays, lose its luster, and become cloudy. However, some people say that a slightly cloudy surface is more practical as it provides a better grip and brakes. It takes a lot of effort to process and polish it.
